There is nothing more fun to have on my walls, than a bright colored gallery wall! I created this wall some time back, and I'm just now getting around to FINALLY blogging about it. This is one of my fave walls in our house. I hand-painted and distressed all of the frames, except for the grey & white chevron with the blue on it, those are from Hobby Lobby. So, have I ever mentioned that I am a tad bit obsessed with yellow & turquoise??!!?? Those who have been to my house probably notice a pattern...its everywhere:)

$3 Lamp Revamp!!
That's right people, I said $3!!! That is all this project cost me, and it makes such an impact! I was tired of looking at this old lamp shade, and I decided for CHEVRON...duh!! {Anyone who knows me, or know OF me, KNOWS I am Chevron obsessed!!}
To start my project, I knew I wanted to get fabric and wrap this 'ol thing, because purchasing a whole new lamp shade just because I was tired of this plain cream one was out of the question...I mean, I'm all about "thrifty", right? So, I went to my local Hobby Lobby and purchased a yard of canvas chevron fabric. {This project actually would have been even cheaper, if I had done measurements...blah} It was only $3 for a yard, hence the $3 "project total". Talk about a BARGAIN!
Check out the pictorial below...
**TIP ALERT!!** If you want to leave your lamp shade as above, meaning no ribbon or trim wrapped around at the ends, I suggest doing perfect measurements of your shade. I had planned on just leaving it with the chevron fabric, but because I had folded and glued down the leftover fabric to the inside of the shade, you could TOTALLY see the shadow of the excess fabric when I placed the shade back on the lamp, and turned the light on. Hey, ya live and ya learn, right? That's what I am here for....learn from MY mistakes! {wink wink}
Glad I had that burlap and lace ribbon....it gives it that nice "Shabby Chic" look.

Brighten Up your Kitchen with these Two Easy DIY Projects!
Below, You will find the steps I did to vamp up my old, tired utensil holder...
{First off, I forgot to take a "before" picture, but it was a dark, reddish-brown wood finish before the coat of spray paint.}
"Frog Tape Shape Tape"...ahhhhh, my new favorite invention!!
My first initial idea was to use my sponge pouncer to "outline" each side of the shape tape...
Buuuut, once I peeled it all off, it looked...well, like crap! NOT what I had envisioned in my head. You know, when you have this absolutely brilliant idea, and it turns out to be a complete bummer?!?
Added a lil' twine and DUNZO!
I think it turned out lovely:-) AND it goes great with my DIY kitchen containers, don't you think?! I believe that things happen for a reason, and my "screw up" on this project worked out perfectly!
Not to mention, they go great with my DIY Chalkboard Canisters that I made about a year ago for our kitchen:)
I purchased these canisters and the ribbon from Hobby Lobby, half off ofcorse, and I already had the labels. This was such in an inexpensive and practical update to our kitchen....I constantly get compliments on them any time someone new comes to visit.
What will you be doing to revamp your kitchen? I would love to see!
Toodles!

Hand-Painted Instagram Frames
Yessss!! I have finally gotten to this post….it has been a week, let me tell you. I have a 14 month old that has had…ahhemmm…diarrhea for just about 2 weeks now. Not to mention, cranky as ever! {um, rightfully so!} So, in between many, MANY diaper changes and impromptu bubble baths {not me, the baby! lol} I have finally gotten enough of my new project done, so I can now reveal. cgvgc cfdfcv…annnnd that was Bryson, trying to explain his side of the story:)
It all started with my Aunt Debbie’s Fall Festival and Craft Fair for her new church’s grand opening. It is at the end of this month and she had invited me to participate if I was interested…DUHHH!! I LOVE craft shows and I LOVE doing crafts, so what better way to spend my spare time {ha! WHAT SPARE TIME} than to create something for my booth. I have several different ideas for the craft show and I have started on 3 of them so far, but this project has been the most fun to make….square frames which are the perfect size for your INSTAGRAM photos!! The inside opening is 4×4 which will fit your Instagram pics. YAAAAAAY!!!
Each frame was plain, unfinished wood. I hand-painted each one and distressed the edges using a super fine-grade sheet of sandpaper and finished off by adding a burlap bow… {of coarse I had to incorporate some burlap}. I am thinking about selling them in sets of 2 and 4, but I think a set of 4 on the perfect wall in any room would be just GAW-JUS! I do believe I will be making these for Christmas gifts too. So, what do y’all think?? What other colors/patterns should I use? I need to make MAAANY more of these for the show, so I would love your input:) Have a splendid day and stay tuned for my DIY chalkboard ornament/gift tag tutorial coming later this week!
