DIY Wood LOVE Sign!

I absolutely LOVE this "LOVE" sign that my husband and I made for our bedroom.  We made this about a year and a half ago, but I didn't have a blog then, so I am now able to share our project with you:)

I saw this on one of my favorite DIY sites, Shanty-2-Chic.  They always have awesome tutorials on how to make their projects, so my hubby and I tried it out. When the project was finished, we were ecstatic!  It came out beautiful:)  Take a look, let me know what you think...

I used felt instead of canvas or burlap, to make the flowers with....this is probably what took the longest! But it was worth it because I love how they turned out.  We also used BIG letters {found at Hobby Lobby} and painted them white.

The total cost of this project was under $30!!  The wood was gathered up from the "cull lumber" section at Home Depot.  Its the area in the lumber section that has discounted wood for dirt cheap...they call it "cull lumber" because it has tiny flaws. But for a DIY project, flaws are beauty!  And I still have yet to find any flaws....The cost of the wood was a little over $5, that's a bargain to me!
I still have plans to "distress" the letters to make them look more "antiqued" but I haven't made that a priority. I LOVE our love sign, what do y'all think?
